Sonia & Ray’s Engagement Session | Duke Gardens | Durham, NC
Sarah and I were lucky enough to be hired by Sonia and Ray as their wedding photographers. Sonia teaches math at the same school as I. As most of you know, we have high regard for teachers and hope we can serve Sonia and Ray with the best. We decided to take their engagement pictures at the always beautiful Duke Gardens and even with the threat of rain, and the occasional drizzle, we managed to have a great time. They are a wonderfully happy couple who are blast to work with. Sarah and I couldn’t be more excited for their wedding!
Hillside New Tech Prom 2010 | Durham, NC
This year we were asked to help with Hillside New Tech’s prom, held at the Ivy Center in Durham, NC. I enlisted the help of my Photography II class to learn the process of this type of event from the photographer’s perspective. We took pictures of guests arriving, candid shots, and the photo booth for formals. The night went perfectly. We had everyone come through the booth and they even got to have a little fun with it. It was nice being able to have several dedicated Photography students to help out. They did a great job!
H.O. & Virginia’s Wedding | Raleigh, NC
What an amazing day! H.O. and Virginia planned a beautiful outdoor wedding at the River Ridge Golf Club in Raleigh, NC. Sarah and I enjoyed ourselves, as their wedding photographers, with their equally amazing friends and family. Their wedding started the month of May off as a HOT one! H.O. was smart enough to have a white tuxedo helping him stay cool, which coincidentally made for a squinty eyed bride and groom due to the bright afternoon sun. You couldn’t avoid the location, sky, colors, people, and of course H.O. and Virginia, which made the perfect mix for a beautiful ceremony. They had the largest wedding party Sarah and I have ever worked with and made for quite the enthusiastic group. We won’t forget them anytime soon!
After the ceremony we took a few formals and then the talented DJ Bill Freeman kicked off the party. We couldn’t have had a more enjoyable time. H.O. and Virginia are an amazing couple with a truly loving family and fantastic set of friends. As usual, all of the friends and family thoroughly enjoyed the Photo Booth. Sarah even got in on the action showing off her baby belly. But after all the fun was over, the remaining guests sent H.O. and Virginia on their way to a beautiful life together.

Union Pines High School Prom | Pinehurst, NC
Our good friend, Ben Suggs, asked us if we could offer our photography services for the 2010 Union Pines High School Prom at the Fair Barn in Pinehurst, NC. Of course, we couldn’t turn down the opportunity to work with Ben. If you know Sarah and I, you know we love Ben. Not only that, but Ben’s wife Jenna and brother Nathan were there to help. We make a killer team!
This was Sarah and I’s first Prom, although for this one we got to have fun and take Photo Booth pictures, 2&3 style! Ben had a large projection screen set up which we projected the pictures on for everyone to view. Lifetouch took care of the formals, so as you can see, we got to have a bit of fun with the students. We thoroughly enjoyed the night and boy was it packed. The Fair Barn is a beautiful location and the Union Pines Prom looked amazing especially considering the fact that they used most of the Prom committee money to donate to the Cancer Care Fund. What an awesome way to celebrate!
