Originally, Sarah and I weren’t able to work with Stacie since we were already booked for her wedding day, but luckily plans changed and gave us the opportunity to work with Stacey and her, now, husband Stephen. Stacey is an awesome bride and was game for just about anything we wanted to do. We used the Governors Club in Chapel Hill, North Carolina for her Bridal portraits and couldn’t have had a better place to shoot. It is an absolutely beautiful location and lots of variety.
Keep an eye out for her wedding pictures coming soon!
We’ve discovered that a 365 with a newborn isn’t as easy as it might have seemed. We have to utilize the strengths of what he can do, which isn’t much more than just laying around. It definitely makes you think a bit differently. Not being able to hold the camera and make sure things are composed and focused is surely the hardest part of it all, especially with a wiggling newborn. Most of our first shots are done pretty quickly with little energy. Its been pretty busy around the Lawrence household over the past 2 weeks.
We still can’t get over how amazing it is to be parents. Is there anything better than having an unlimited supply of cuteness everyday of your life? It makes everything better!
Every moment isn’t peaceful cuteness. If you can’t fight it, you might as well join it!
We got into the Birthday Cake!!!!! Thanks for the cake Grandma!
And here are a few random shots from his first week and a half with us! Nap time is definitely as sweet as it looks.
We are constantly looking for new ideas for our 365s. If you guys have ideas you think would make for a great picture, let us know! We might actually do it and give you credit!
Ethan Thaddeus Lawrence is one stubborn little fella. He finally decided to make his grand appearance on August 23rd 2010 at 6:27 pm. 8 Days past his due date. He was 7lbs 10oz and 21 1/2 inches long.
My words can not describe the grandeur of the event and subsequent feelings so I will let you feel it through the images that were captured during Ethan’s first 24 hours…
All this new life outside of the womb takes its toll…
A HUGE thanks goes out to everyone who was there to stand by our side as we passed through this monumental moment in life! We couldn’t have done it without all of your love and support! Sarah’s sister Krista, of KM Photography, took many of the images you see here.
And lastly, as most of you know, this starts our new 365 Project with 3 people. So keep an eye out for things to come!!
Kristen and Nick are such great people. They are very down to earth and so easy to work with. Their wedding day was a great day for celebration and was lead by the great Erin McLean of Erin McLean Events. They even made sure to have a candy bar (pregnant Sarah loved that!) with a wide assortment of sweet treats. All that candy gave everyone the sugar rush they needed to keep dance floor rockin’ where the awesome Ben Suggs of Southern Entertainment made sure everyone had an amazing time.
We meet Akua at a wedding we recently shot and she was gracious enough to ask us to take her engagement photographs with her fiance, Mitch. Â These two are a blast! We braved the good ol’ southern heat and humidity at Duke Gardens in Durham, NC on a Tuesday evening where we were the only ones crazy enough to actually be outside. Our associate photographer, Krista of KM Photography, helped me with lighting and contributed to the images you see below.
Kat and Andre are such a fun couple! They were so easy to photograph with their fun personalities and love for each other. We took loads of pictures in quite a few different locations in downtown Durham, where we had cooler than normal weather and a nice breeze blowing. Sadly, we won’t be able to photograph their wedding, but were certainly blessed to have had the opportunity to photograph their engagement! Thanks Kat and Andre!
When Kristen asked us to take her bridal portraits we were pumped to find out they were at such a cool location. There was a pond, western style saloon, old Chevy truck, and beautiful landscaping. Even though it was a bit toasty, the weather was beautiful and the sun gave us a great backlight. Kristen’s boots were pretty sweet too. You’ll see more of those when we post Kristen and Nick’s wedding day, coming up very soon!
Sarah and I really enjoyed working with Sonia and Ray when we did their engagement photos and were very excited for their wedding day. There is no doubt, they were made for each other! Their ceremony was held at the Showers of Blessing Christian Center in Rocky Mount, NC and their reception at the Wilson Country Club in Wilson, NC. Sonia and Ray have such a happy group of family and friends. Being able to photograph this time of joy in their life was truly an honor. Congrats you guys!
We finally got hard copies of the July issue of Desktop Magazine from Australia. Sarah and I graced the cover and had an article written on our 365 project. We really enjoyed our last 365, but the best is still to come. Our new 365 will be starting the day our first child is born. We’ll be doing a 3 person 365 and are super excited to see where this new endeavor will take us. Keep an eye out! It should be fun!
Update: We didn’t know what the black and white logo was on the front until we actually read the magazine! Its for augmented reality! You can try it yourself here: http://www.desktopmag.com.au/ar/
Last year Sarah and I photographed Justin and Miranda Reich’s wedding. Justin is an extremely talented artist and runs The Antimatter Studio. We were truly humbled by their choice to use us as their photographers. Their testimonial below speaks for itself!…
“I am a professional photographer and designer so my standards are extremely high and I truly think that 90% of all wedding photographers in North Carolina are absolute garbage with rates & ego’s that will make your head spin. 2&3 are in that other 10% and are at the very top of the list. They are humble, affordable, and deliver amazing work. Photography is the most important part of a wedding because seriously, when you’re 90 years old and can’t tell the difference between your colgate and preparation H until it’s too late, at least you will have the ability to reflect on if Uncle Jimmy really ripped his pants during the electric slide, and it will be covered from EVERY angle. So in closing, if you don’t use 2&3, Don’t get married. Trust me, you’ll be doing yourself a favor.”

Justin and Miranda are an absolutely amazing couple and were a blast to work with! Thanks guys!
